Discover the Magic of Wet Felting Art
Wet Felt Painting Class
28 February 2026 at the Emporium 10-2pm
Inspired by Scottish Fiber Artist Moy Mackey. Moy is known for her luminous landscapes and bold use of color. Her signature technique uses layers of richly dyed wool fibers, silk accents, and expressive stitching to create atmospheric scenes inspired by the Scottish landscape. Her work has inspired fiber artists around the world- and now you can explore this beautiful technique for yourself.
What is Wet Felt Painting?
Wet felting is the process of layering loose wool fibers and bonding them together using warm water, soap, friction, and gentle pressure. As the fibers interlock, they form a solid textile surface- your canvas. Instead of using traditional paint, you "paint" with wool. Every piece is completely unique.
Join us for a hands-on, creative experience where you will learn the fundamentals of wet felt painting and create your own finished felt artwork to take home and enjoy.
Whether you are an experienced artist or trying fiber art for the first time, this class is designed to be inspiring, accessible, and fun. Working with natural fibers and water is grounding and calming. It slows you down and allows you to fully immerse yourself in the creative process.
By the end of the class, you will leave with a one-of-a-kind felt painting- a handmade artwork infused with your personal creativity.
